In December 2022, MSC Cruises will introduce its newest class of cruise ships with the MSC World Europa, the longest vessel in the fleet.
Now available for booking, the liquified natural gas (LNG)-powered vessel will measure in at 1,093 feet long and 22 decks high for 430,556 square feet of overall public space. It will boast distinct districts complete with MSC favorites, as well as features that are new to the brand.
“Quite unlike anything else at sea today, MSC World Europa and the entire MSC World class redefines the cruise experience in so many ways, from the future-proof onboard technologies that this completely new platform introduces for the first time, all the way to its groundbreaking marine and interior design features,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of MSC Cruises, in a press release. “To put it simply, MSC World Europa marks the beginning of a new era for cruising.”

In addition to its LNG fuel, the environmentally friendly MSC World Europa will employ selective catalytic reduction, shore-to-ship power connectivity, advanced wastewater treatment, underwater radiated noise management and other highly efficient equipment. More futuristic features include the ship’s vertical plumb bow, Y-shaped stern and 341-foot-long, ocean-view Europa Promenade, partially open to the natural sky and partially crowned with an LED screen. Signature to the space will be The Spiral, an 11-deck-tall dry slide, which MSC claims will be the longest at sea.

Fresh restaurants on the ship will include Chef’s Garden Kitchen, which will have a focus on microgreens, and La Pescaderia, an alfresco seafood grill. Returning favorites will also be onboard, including a classic gelateria; Butcher’s Cut steakhouse; Kaito Teppanyaki Grill and Sushi Bar; and Hola! Tacos & Cantina, as well as a trio of buffets (one of which will be an always-open option). Thirsty clients can head to Masters of the Sea Pub, a double-decker craft brewery, or opt to visit Elixir - Mixology Bar, an Asian-style tea room, the Emporium coffee bar, the Gin Bar and a juice bar.
Infinite Ocean view staterooms will highlight panoramic sliding windows.

Several veranda rooms will overlook the core promenade, while Aurea Suites will tout private hot tubs. MSC Yacht Club accommodations will even encompass duplex options with all the accoutrements, including large balconies, a private hot tub and an open living and dining room area.
“At MSC Cruises, we have a strong, clear vision for the future, and we combine that with our own timeless style,” Vago said. “MSC World Europa embodies this perfectly — bringing together future-proof technologies, globally inspired urban design and our signature European flair to give our guests a next-level cruise experience.”
The ship’s initial itineraries will sail from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates before heading to the Mediterranean on March 25, 2023.
